Racing

It all started with some friends, a passion for racing, and the love of Mazda’s rotary engine. Countless hours and some good old elbow grease turned a Mazda RX-7 FC into a worthy racecar. I had the opportunity to watch this car completely evolve. The men who put this racecar into action did so from a home garage in Rincon, GA.

It was a cool afternoon in February at Roebling Road raceway in Bloomingdale, GA. An announcer calls the time warnings for each race class. The race team assists the driver into the car while doing final checks of the car. Engines fire up all around the infield of the racetrack. Moments later the race is underway, watching the cars battling the forces momentum is always a spectacle of racing I enjoy. In this artwork I wanted to capture the racecar in motion. Thanks to Mr. Fisher, Latphrop, and Colburn this was easy to accomplish.
